An Opportunity to Betray HimMatthew 26:14-16"Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscar'i-ot, went to the chief priests, "and said to them, What will you give me, and I will deliver him to you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. "And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him." Before we can know for certain that we would never 'seek to betray' the One we profess to love the most...we must know that we really love Him. Before we know we really love Him we must know the depths of that pit we call sin and the rebellion from which He saved us...without these realities we are susceptible to betrayal of the One Who loves us and died for us. Worshipping 'other' gods, whether in action or thought, is a betrayal of 'trust' of the love covenant between God-Jesus-Holy Spirit and us. Take courage...let's make the difference in this world! Let's be called 'the faithful and trustworthy'! May I suggest that if you struggle at all with 'seeing or knowing' the horrible pit in which God, through His Son Jesus, has delivered you...then ask Him to show you what He sees. Wait to hear His voice. Let's not be ignorant nor naive. Those excuses will not hold up when we stand before Him on that Day. We can not value or know that great price in love that was paid for our 'release from bondage' unless we realise the depth of our sin. Let's seek to value the great significance of repentance and the freedom and love that come with 'walking the other way' and embracing the Truth! Wynn |
